About Maria stille & Homesick Mac
We have together more than 50 years of musical experience. Our hearts skip a beat when we listen to the treasure of early American folk music - jazz, blues, hillbilly, country, gospel... and we love to play it!
Homesick Mac
Mac was born in Serbia (former Yugoslavia) and he has been playing music since 1975. His main influences were Doc Watson and early country blues players. Later on he discovered Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry which inspired the creation of Blues Trio, his first serious take on acoustic blues. The solo acoustic act Homesick Mac was established upon moving to Sweden in the early 90's where he performed solo or with his own band. Between 1995-2000 Mac formed an acoustic duo together with the British slide master Sam Mitchell. The two recorded a CD "Two Long From Home". Mac toured in old Yugoslavia, Hungary, Italy, Germany, England, Ireland, Norway and Denmark. He played and jammed with numerous world artists, Pera Joe, Louisiana Red, John Hammond Jr., Johnny Mars, Michael Roach, Mickey Waller, above mentioned Sam Mitchell... |
